Zoya Mateeva is a Professor in the Climate Department of the Climate, Atmosphere and Water Research Institute (CAWRI) at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. She has experience in the analysis and assessment of climate resources and risks, the study of their spatio-temporal patterns and features, practical-applied aspects of climate services and strategic climate planning. Her research interests and projects are in the fields of climatology, bioclimatology, medical and recreational climatology, climate renewable energy sources, climate monitoring and early warning systems, bioclimatic re-design of urban areas and adaptation to climate change.
