Hamed Nademi is an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering at California State University-San Marcos (CSUSM). Prior to joining CSUSM, Dr. Nademi served as an Assistant Professor with the New Mexico State University, and he was also a Research Scientist at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), Troy, NY. Dr. Nademi has been a PI on the DOE Marine Energy and CO-PI of the NSF-funded AI-Assisted Wind Farm Control over the last four years. He worked as PI/Co-PI with industry-sponsored projects including utility companies in New York focusing on microgrids, autonomous digital power grids, and transportation electrification. He collaborated closely with the Power Electronic Center of SIEMENS, Energy Division from 2010-2014. From 2012 to January 2013, he was a Visiting Researcher with the Center for Power Electronics Systems, Virginia Tech. In 2014, he joined the Industrial Automation Division, ABB, as an R&D Scientist, where he was involved in the development of multilevel converter platforms for medium-voltage industrial and grid applications. His research interests include Distributed Energy Resources, Electric Vehicle Technologies, Motor Drives, UAV, and advanced control methods. He has authored more than 75 published papers and holds seven patents on energy conversion circuits and controls. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE.
